This course will equip you with tools that are necessary for developing and maintaining a strong connection with your true Self.
In doing so, you will begin to grasp the importance of the thoughts you think and the feelings you feel. You will delve inwardly to that often-heard term, Self-Love, and discover what It really means. You will explore Forgiveness, it’s relationship to Self-Love, and how to communicate with Spirit.
Your breath will become more important to you, your eyes will begin to see and yet, you will see from your heart. You will learn to visualize what you desire and thus manifest what you want. As you learn in this course, we will help you to become more mindful and teach you techniques that you can add to your toolbox.
Meditation and prayer will be used as a vehicle to tap into your hidden resources…your true Self.
We will show you that your thoughts and your feelings determine your biology. Your biology determines your emotional state and your emotional state determines how you feel. How you feel programs your sub-conscious mind and determines how you live. So, better to think thoughts that uplift and up regulate rather than the opposite.
Topics such as self-love, meditation, forgiveness, communicating with Spirit, Energy Awareness, Living Mindfully, Quick Coherence Technique, and others will be presented and discussed in a down-to-earth practical way that you can take home and use to change your life.
Michael Sutton has over 40 years experience teaching the principles and mechanics of mind/body connection through martial arts, yoga, and meditation. He is a yoga teacher, martial artist, and spiritual activist. He is also the founder and director of Rising Sun Yoga. His passion is helping others to discover their inherent individual greatness. A certified and registered Hatha and Iyengar-based yoga teacher and a karate instructor, he lives as holistically as he can - contemplating, meditating, visualizing, feeling, eating smartly, staying fit, practicing yoga, and having a healthy outlook. Michael believes that thoughts and their attendant feelings are more powerful than anything you put into, or let come out of, your Self. Those same thoughts and feelings create your beliefs.
He has had the opportunity to experience many injuries including torn ligaments and tendons, ripped muscles, broken bones, fractured ribs, sprains, strains, aches and pains, vertebral problems as a result of engaging in team sports, as well as kidney challenges. He finds the only benefit to having experienced these injuries is that he understands what others have experienced, can teach people how to move properly, help re-align and balance themselves, and assist them in regaining a healthy lifestyle. He is a proponent of functional movement and mobility and believes this can be achieved by minding the messages you receive.
Formerly a practicing herbalist, Iridologist, and health consultant, he learned to address issues holistically and has continued his education in key health related areas, conducting research through topic-related books and as a result, has had the privilege of helping many people. He also presents health-related topics to organizations and various groups alone and with his sister, Mary Ann Amschler, former RN and now holistic counselor.
For much of his life, he studied martial arts (for 33 years) before being introduced to yoga in 1999. During some of that time, he worked in the banking and software industries for 20 years.
Michael founded Rising Sun Yoga to help people change the(ir) paradigm, bring people together in community, and create a center for education in mind, body, and spirit. His classes can be slow and even, mindful and steady, or strong and flowing. Usually his classes are a combination of all of them giving you an opportunity to explore and stretch your boundaries. He is a Yoga Alliance (YA) e-RYT 500 hour certified yoga instructor.

Michael has a daughter, Sydney, who is a YA 500 hour certified yoga instructor, adventure seeker, world traveller, ski instructor, and outdoor wilderness guide.
Ruth Shewan began her yoga practice in 2001 to reduce stress and find balance. She has been practicing ever since and has been a student of spiritual growth practices since she was a young girl. She is also a practicing animal communicator and intuitive.
Other passions include singing, playing piano and other instruments, gardening, hiking, biking, fostering friendships and family relationships, and living a joy-filled life. Ruth's greatest desires in life are to be mindful of living in her heart, and helping others discover their own spiritual nature and how much they are loved.
She retired from public school teaching in 2016 after teaching Instrumental Music for 32 years to pursue her three passions in life: teaching yoga, dog training, and spiritual growth. In April of 2017, she completed the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program at Rising Sun Yoga. In September of 2017, she received her dog training certification. In October of 2017, she begins teaching the course, Your Spiritual Toolbox.
Ruth does have another goal and that is to become a Master Gardener in 2018.
