Science has proven that meditating restructures our brain and can train it to concentrate, feel greater compassion, cope with stress, and more. We now know exactly what happens in the brain and in the cells of the body when you meditate. We know too what happens when you are stressed and how to bounce out of anxiety, depression, panic, anger, frustration, fear, etc.

In this class, you will discover that meditation also has benefits far beyond what science has revealed. There are changes both subtle and profound understood only through direct experience. All you need to start is the willingness to sit and be with your own body, breath, and mind.

This class teaches you how to relax, focus and move into deeper levels of concentration. It teaches you how to relieve and eliminate anxiety, cope with the stress in your life and calm your self. You will be taught different methods of meditation from quieting the mind to focusing on the breath or an object or a thought to visualizations to affirming-type meditations to loving-kindness. You will also prepare the body to sit comfortably and practice stillness.

We base this course on the teachings of the Yoga Sutras, the teachings of Neville Goddard, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Gregg Braden, Bruce Lipton, Advaita Vedanta, DU, and ACIM offering a unique blend of old and new. It will be both theoretical and practical. That is, you will be taught something every week as well as be given the opportunity to sit quietly for a period of time.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of the session. If you are late, please enter quietly so as not to disturb others.

Having always been drawn to study the mind, body, spirit connection, Carol’s path has led her to become a certified Yoga Instructor, a certified Personal Trainer and a registered Social Worker. She has been dedicated to her classical Hatha Yoga practice since 2001 and has been teaching Yoga with devotion since 2006. Kundalini yoga is a very regular part of her personal practice as well. She has explored many styles including Kripalu, Ashtanga, Power Vinyasa, Anusara and the teachings of Dharma Mittra.

Carol’s greatest focus and passion is being a certified Emotional Freedom Technique Therapist as she is able to witness small miracles in her clients every day as they break through a wide variety of negative emotions and long-held patterns in their lives. She discovered that EFT can truly address the root of all negative emotions and self-limiting beliefs more rapidly and effectively than was previously thought possible. Carol provides a safe space for her clients and is blessed with the ability of helping others develop insights into their deeper layers of unresolved issues. Her book "The Hidden Secrets of EFT" can also be found on www.carolcowan.ca

Carol still has an insatiable desire to learn and grow. You will often find her at conferences in Toronto, workshops at Kripalu, or reading yet another book on the true nature of reality. Reiki Level Two is also one of her more recent certifications. She has recently completed the challenging and insightful 10 day Vipassana Meditation Course with 10 hours per day of meditation at the Ontario Vipassana Centre.

She takes a wholehearted approach when guiding students and helps them experience their connection to the Divine. What motivates her most is the understanding that “Inner Peace leads to World Peace”.

Carol’s eventual goal is not only to raise the level of consciousness on the planet, but to help others on their path to wisely and mindfully create the life they most deeply desire.

Another motto she lives by is a quote from Buddha:

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.”
