Our program is designed to immerse you into the essence of the practice of yoga, to develop your understanding of the depths of yoga, enable you to practice and teach yoga confidently, safely, and effectively, and to cause the transformations that you would like in your life
and some that you may not expect.
The program is intimate and intense with lots of one on one time with the primary facilitator ensuring the quality time you need. It is for those wanting greater insights into yoga to enhance their own personal practice and growth, those wanting to become yoga teachers, and for yoga teachers wanting national certification RYT-200 through the Yoga Alliance.
We recognize that we are all both students and teachers, and our purpose is awaken the all knowing Self within each of us.
Learn: yoga philosophy, basic anatomy, biomechanical alignment of the body in asana, how to design a class, sequencing of postures and flows, pranayam, bandhas, chakras, meditation, teaching methodology, contraindication, benefits, and more.
Training
Our program is Classical Hatha Yoga based with emphasis on Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and accented with understanding yoga in the real world.
Students enjoy a unique opportunity to learn asana with the use of Posture Pro technology. This equipment leads to a rapid absorption of understanding and knowledge of each pose so that without the equipment you know how the body should be positioned in each pose. There is no quicker or more effective way to learn . This detailed knowledge of how the body works in asana produces confidence and skill in teaching and in in your personal practice. This learning is integrated into a flowing practice with grace and mindful attention of detail producing a safe but challenging practice for students of all levels. The universal knowledge acquired can be taken into any style of yoga for the most profound results of the practice.
The curriculum includes a thorough understanding of the importance of foundation, biomechanics, healthy eating/nutrition, yoga anatomy, philosophy, class structuring, designing a class that is safe to teach and practice, asana flow sequencing, alignment adjustments, contraindications, pranayama, meditation, chakras, the business of yoga, and ethics.
We utilize two studio rooms each week. The "cave" contains our Posture Pro equipment where we learn foundation, structure, and details of biomechanics and breath. In our larger more open "white" room we utilize the principles learned to teach the postures free form safely and effectively in flow series, and discuss philosophy, meditate, and learn to teach pranayama effectively.

Mentors
You will receive mentoring, instruction, and guidance from a highly trained and qualified staff of instructors at Rising Sun Yoga.
The
primary facilatator is Jim Pero E-RYT. Jim is one of a couple of yoga instructors in the area that has been trained to teach posture pro yoga. He began practicing in the early 90's and started teaching full time in 2002. Equally passionate with hatha, pranayama, chanting, and meditation, Jim encourages students to explore yoga in all it's varieties to find a practice they resonate with. He teachings focus on the uniqueness of the individual and the importance of listening to your own body to discern what is best for you. His classes reflect his diverse training and are often unpredictable and different. His reverence for the body however keep his practices safe and he encourages students to learn to do the practices correctly. His purpose is to teach and encourage people to be as healthy as possible to prevent obstacles on the path to finding their essence. He encourages people to go green, organic, and to experience Isha Yoga.

"I love this school. I have no doubt that this was exactly what I needed in my life for the growth that I have been praying for." - Erin
"Totally intense, cleansing, very understanding, and compassionate student body as well as staff... When I hear of those weekend certification courses and how the quality of teachers from those are very low, I feel confident I am not in that category. This certification feels earned and I feel good about sharing yoga now." - Miranda
"Rising Sun was definitely the right choice for me for a teacher training program. I really admire how open-minded and yet rigorous you guys are. There seems to be so many dogmatics in the yoga world and there's just none of that at this school. I really feel well equipped to teach a wide variety of students. Thank you." - Stephanie
