Flow Yoga Open Level
In this class, we flow through poses with an emphasis on bringing the body into optimal alignment in order to enable an experience of transformation - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Classes allow you to experience the detailed alignment principles and heart-oriented spiritual philosophy taught in yoga.
Students of all levels, abilities and yoga experience are honored for their unique differences, limitations, and talents although class participants should have at least one year of yoga and/or a strong yoga practice.
After 13 years of gymnastics in her native country, The Netherlands, Mylene started her yoga journey in 1981 with a very traditional Hatha class in Amsterdam. While working for Royal Dutch Airlines, she continued her yoga education by attending yoga classes in a variety of countries. After moving to the United States, she practiced Ashtanga Yoga but was eventually drawn to the creative freedom of a Vinyasa practice.
In addition to teaching yoga, Mylene has been teaching Pilates and Functional Movement for the past 16 years. During this time, she has worked with a variety of people that have experienced a wide range of physical challenges. As a result, she has gained insight into the importance of maintaining core strength and proper alignment, and has made it her objective to extend this knowledge to her students.
When not working, Mylene enjoys outdoor activities such as kayaking, canoeing, hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. She also devotes some of her free time to her love of painting and gardening.
