Warm Vinyasa Open Level
02/18/2012 @ 07:15 am - 08:30 am
RSY Surya Room
Vinyasa is sometimes called Vinyasa Flow or just Flow because of the smooth, integrated way that the poses run together and "flow" like a dance. The word itself has a few meanings of which one is “breath-synchronized movement.”
In a Warm Vinyasa class (85°), you develop skills of concentration and patience that help focus the mind. You increase physical strength and stamina, attain greater flexibility and improve your flow through a dynamic practice of continuous movement. These movements help rid the tissues and organs of wastes and toxins, thus cleansing and purifying the body. Performed in a warmed room, the class is vigorous and challenging leaving you feeling empowered.
Marina Mukandala
Marina Mukandala was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She attended Buffalo Academy for visual and Performing Arts where she majored in Dance. Upon graduating, she left her home town to attend college at Clark University in Massachusetts. She graduated from Clark with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management.
She began her Yoga practice in 2004, when she discovered Bikram Yoga while living in Massachusetts. After taking her first class, she was instantly hooked. She knew from that day that Yoga was truly something amazing and powerful and that it would be part of her life. As the years passed, she continued to realize how incredible she felt. She experienced Yoga transforming her life and the lives of others. It was then that the desire to teach Yoga arose. She quickly realized that she wanted to share it with the world and help others to grow and transform from it.
In the winter of 2008, she relocated from Massachusetts to her native hometown of Buffalo, New York. She continued practicing Bikram Yoga locally and her desire to teach grew stronger. In the summer of 2009, she took a leap of faith and followed her heart, as she embarked on the 250 hour Evolation Yoga Teacher Training, which focused on the Bikram method.
The Teacher Training was an experience of a lifetime that she will cherish for the rest of her life. It was a real dream come true. She successfully completed and graduated from the intensive Teacher Training in August 2009.
Today, Marina and her husband reside in Williamsville and are the proud parents to their daughter, who they welcomed in October of 2010. She is honored and blessed to be a Yoga teacher and knows that it's meant to be part of her life's journey. She finds joy and fulfillment in helping others receive the same benefits: balance, peace, happiness, and a closer relationship with God. She looks forward to sharing this gift with everyone.
