Science has proven that meditating restructures our brain and can train it to concentrate, feel greater compassion, cope with stress, and more. We now know exactly what happens in the brain and in the cells of the body when you meditate. We know too what happens when you are stressed and how to bounce out of anxiety, depression, panic, anger, frustration, fear, etc.
In this class, you will discover that meditation also has benefits far beyond what science has revealed. There are changes both subtle and profound understood only through direct experience. All you need to start is the willingness to sit and be with your own body, breath, and mind.
This class teaches you how to relax, focus and move into deeper levels of concentration. It teaches you how to relieve and eliminate anxiety, cope with the stress in your life and calm your self. You will be taught different methods of meditation from quieting the mind to focusing on the breath or an object or a thought to visualizations to affirming-type meditations to loving-kindness. You will also prepare the body to sit comfortably and practice stillness.
We base this course on the teachings of the Yoga Sutras, the teachings of Neville Goddard, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Gregg Braden, Bruce Lipton, Advaita Vedanta, DU, and ACIM offering a unique blend of old and new. It will be both theoretical and practical. That is, you will be taught something every week as well as be given the opportunity to sit quietly for a period of time.
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of the session. If you are late, please enter quietly so as not to disturb others.

Usha began practicing yoga in 1999 in the Ashtanga tradition. She knew immediately that she had found something life altering as the practice was transformative on so many levels. She has practiced several styles over the years, learning from various traditions such as Kripalu, Bikram and the Mysore method, but found her home in the authenticity of the living, breathing, ever changing flow of Vinyasa. She completed an 11 month, intensive certification through Tom Gilette at Eyes of the World in Providence, RI.
Her classes focus on proper alignment and strengthening as well as deepening awareness of breath, body, and mind. The pace of the class flows, but with intention, slow motion, and intensity. She is committed to helping her students cultivate a practice that is right for the them while honoring differences.
Usha is a Nutritional Consultant and is currently completing a Nutritional Practitioner’s Program through the Edison Institute of Nutrition. She has worked with supplements, herbs, and natural skin care in the The Natural Products Industry since 2000. She is devoted to the holistic practice of wellness in all areas of her life. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History with a focus on Buddhist Sculpture through Cleveland State University.
