| Location: | RSY Surya Room |
| Class: | Prenatal Yoga Designed to alleviate pregnancy related discomforts, prepare for birthing experience, practice relaxation and breathing techniques whilst being in community with other pregnant women going through the physical changes associated with pregnancy and the associated emotional/hormonal fluctuations. This class is VERY appropriate for beginners and current yoga practitioners of all skill levels. We focus mainly on the connection between you and baby, which is so important and can be easily lost in the hustle & bustle of your days. We also focus deeply on the breath which is so vital during your delivery; to positions that facilitate an easier, more comfortable birth; loosening the muscles, joints & bones used during birth; releasing and empowering your energy pathways and; opening your heart mind. The movements help you relax and are modified for pregnancy. We move slowly in the class, so all movements are easy to learn and do. The purpose of the movements are to help you achieve a feeling, a certain state of being (relaxation, meditation, etc.) which then helps you cope with the daily stresses on your body. Some movements will challenge you, some will relax you and some will intrigue you. Everybody's experience is different! Yoga is designed to help you connect with your body and mind and in the process discover your Spirit. But the most important reason to practice is to enjoy yourself, take a break from the fast-paced world and have fun! Anytime during your pregnancy is a great time to start! We have some students who have started at 37 weeks! If you cannot attend all of the classes prior to delivering or were recently made aware of these sessions, please stop in anyway and join the class. You can purchase a package of classes or pay by the class. If you have questions, please contact Rising Sun Yoga at 716-632-5802 or by email at Michael@RisingSunYoga.com to register. Jacqueline Carrubba![]() Jacky fell in love with the idea of yoga even before she began practicing. Her interests in indigenous cultures, belief systems and natural healing drew her to study and eventually embody her own yoga practice. Jacky began her yogic journey in 2003 when she enrolled for a course during her first semester in college. She kept up her practice while earning her Bachelors in Anthropology, concentrating on Archaeology with a minor in Native American studies. Shortly after graduating, Jacky took the next step and completed a 200 hour Yoga certified training program at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Her teaching style focuses on the needs of the individual student while emphasizing proper breathing and safe alignment. Students are able to work in a way that suits their own body and personality. Jacky's approach is to help you develop the three aspects of self...physical, mental and spiritual. Drawing from the Kripalu tradition, she makes sure that each student is compassionate with her/his self. Jacky's humor and passion for yoga create the perfect atmosphere for beginners and seasoned students alike. Remembering that Yoga makes us all better human beings first and foremost, Jacky encourages students to take their practice off the mat and into real life in any way big or small.
