QiGong

02/01/2012 @ 07:30 pm - 08:45 pm
RSY Surya Room

Our society changes at a rapid pace, making our lives exciting. But with change comes stress and if we can't manage our stress we are endangering our health. QiGong and Tai Chi are Chinese arts that have been around for millenniums. Both forms of exercise are rapidly gaining in popularity. Why? Because IT FEELS GOOD! It allows us to gain control over our bodies and our lives by encouraging our muscles to let go of tensions, so we can relax our minds and soothe our hearts.

QiGong is energy at work. The exercises, active and passive, release the energy blocks (which create dis-ease) in our bodies. QiGong focuses on clearing the mind while focusing on the breath.

Tai means internal, supreme; Chi means ultimate. Tai Chi is the "supreme internal energy" or "highest martial art." Tai Chi is taught through forms which moves the energy inside and around our selves.

We start our exploration of Qi with some active and passive Qigong followed by all levels of Tai Ji.

No previous experience necessary, all levels welcome.

For 2012/2013, we are offering 4 week sessions. Class passes can be used or $15 per class.
