Workshop Facilitators:

Chris Briney: Chris is one of the most highly trained and well-versed yoga instructors in the Metro Detroit area. He has been a dedicated student of yoga since 1997, and has maintained a full-time teaching schedule since 2001.  His passion for his practice—to him the wellspring of his teaching—has taken him around the country and to hundreds of hours of continuing and on-going training, with numerous teachers widely regarded as some of the finest in the field today. His past Anusara studies and his current Iyengar Yoga training deeply influence his lively, inspiring, and playful style of teaching. His classes provide explorations in blending meaningful self-expression with precise physical and energetic alignment of the postures to create the optimal conditions for the positive transformation of his students. His stated mission as a teacher is to guide and support people in taking actions that enhance their quality of life and the quality of life in the world around them, while simultaneously challenging them to explore, honor and, ultimately, expand their limitations.

Jim Pero E-RYT:  Jim is one of a couple of yoga instructors in the area that has been trained to teach posture pro yoga. He began practicing in the early 90's and started teaching full time in 2002.  Equally passionate with hatha, pranayama, chanting, and meditation, Jim encourages students to explore yoga in all it's varieties to find a practice they resonate with.  He teachings focus on the uniqueness of the individual  and the importance of listening to your own body to discern what is best for you.  His classes reflect his diverse training and are often unpredictable and different.  His reverence for the body however keep his practices safe and he encourages students to learn to do the practices correctly.  His purpose is to teach and encourage people to be as healthy as possible to prevent obstacles on the path to finding  their essence.  He encourages people to go green, organic, raw, and to experience Isha Yoga.
