HOPE

Honest
Optimism
Plus
Enthusiasm
"Not only is another world possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day,
I can hear her breathing.” ~
Arundhati Roy
I eagerly opened my email looking for links from a friend at the newspaper to
the articles that were written on Yoga 4 Peace. I found beautiful images that
captured the spirit of the event. I didn’t realize before that moment that I was
in a bit of a funk. Recent discussions amongst friends on the bleak out look of
the nations political future, emails suggesting that we are heading to war with
Iran, and news of raw almonds being illegal now had been weighing on me without
even realizing it. But the images of the event sparked an energy of renewed hope
and optimism for the future.
There are thousands of people meditating for peace every day and the number
is growing. In our local community and nation wide people are talking about
global warming and causing a change. Business and corporations are starting to
make better decisions for people and the planet. Nutrition Unlimited in
Southgate for one is dedicated to causing a change in peoples awareness of
healthy and healthy products. The Glass Academy in Dearborn is teaching
environmental harmony and is hosting raw food advocates. The yoga community is
working together to build awareness.
To attract more change in our world we have to be the change ourselves. We
need the attitude of HOPE - Honest Optimism Plus Enthusiasm. If we are fearful
and pessimistic about are world we will attract what we don’t want. We have to
be courageous, look for the good changes that are happening and spread the word
about those making a difference. I believe the consciousness of the planet is
increasing. One paradigm change will come soon causing a shift in this planet. I
know it won’t be long till we recognize that we are all God’s children and that
we have one plant to care for including the water, air, earth and beings. That
is what I’m standing for and I hope the you will hold this thought in your mind
too. Give up any doubts and replace them with HOPE.
Peace, Love, and Light,
Jim |

NEW CLASS
Mondays @ 7:15
Whether You’re Brand New to Yoga or a Seasoned Practitioner,
this class is for You!
Yin / Restorative:
Yin Yoga is the practice of applying
long passive holds to safely mobilize, rehabilitate, and energize the deep
connective tissue and joints. This simple, quiet, meditative practice encourages
the cultivation of mindfulness, inward focus, and surrender. The deep emotional
release that often accompanies this gentle practice teaches us to relax, let go,
and accept ourselves just as we are. All levels welcome |

Karma Yoga
Aloha
everyone! Thank you so much for contributing all the wonderful school supplies
for the children of COTS. Your generous donations will help encourage learning
and make low income children prepared for their future education. You can go
online and check out their website at www.cotsdetroit.org and read about their
wonderful leaps and bounds they’ve made in their past 25 years of service to
homeless men, women and children.
On to our next adventure in giving! This time of year many
people do not think of food drives and feeding the hundreds of thousands of
hungry people around our state, but many local food banks and soup kitchens have
short supplies during the summer months as they see a higher donation rate
during the holiday times. In fact the Detroit Ronald McDonald House was in need
of supplies (I found that to be very odd). I’d like to have a food drive of our
own. Please bring in as many non-perishable food items to the studio by
September 27th and we will donate them to the third-oldest food bank in the
United States, Gleaners of Southeast Michigan.
Just for kids:
September is back
to school for many children. Talk with your principal and PTA if they would like
to have a recycling container on the schools property. This will teach children
about recycling and it also generates revenue for their school. Recycling
companies give a percentage of their profit back to the school. Everyone wins!
Green Miracles:
Many
companies have seen the light and are now offering products that are made from
recycled and renewable resources. For example, Mohawk carpets have made
carpeting called, “Everstrand”, out of 100% recycled plastic bottles. In fact
Mohawk is one of the largest recyclers of plastic bottles. A great website to
look for other retailers for “Green” product and other great news and
information is www.treehugger.com .

Available At Rising Sun Yoga
Blue Ice Pure Cod Liver Oil

Grandma knew what she was doing by giving us cod live oil. It is high
in vitamin A and D plus Omega 3 oils. The Blue Ice brand is the purist and
highest vitamin content we’ve found.
“Vitamin D may be one of the most fundamentally important
building blocks available to us for creating and sustaining vibrant health.
In addition to its classically understood role in bone formation and calcium
absorption, research has uncovered myriad roles for vitamin D, ranging from
increasing muscular coordination to preventing cancer, heart disease,
autoimmune diseases and radiation-induced tissue damage. Yet vitamin D is
also considered to be "the most toxic of all vitamins..", so don’t over do
it. (From Green Pasture’s Website) For more information visit
www.greenpasture.org and
www.westonaprice.org.
Afraid of the fishy taste, try the mint or cinnamon flavor
and fear no more.
We are also carrying Blue Ice Gold Therapeutics, a blend of high vitamin
cod liver oil-- 5000IU's vitamin A, 500IU's vitamin D -- plus 100mg of high
vitamin butter oil in each dose.
Without vitamin A & D our bodies don’t absorb minerals

Michigan Harvest
Michigan
Harvest
is a proprietary blend of
sweet cherry, blackberry, blueberry and apple chosen to maximize the ORAC* score while producing a flavor filled juice drink boost. Most high
antioxidant drinks use fruits from far away places in an attempt to maximize
antioxidant score. At Sol Resource we created
a high antioxidant drink made with fruits grown right here in the state of
Michigan. A single ounce of Michigan Harvest provides you with half of your
daily recommended antioxidant intake.
*ORAC
(Oxygen Radical
Absorption Capacity) measures the antioxidant activity of a substance.
Cherry Harvest
American Premium Blends
is
proud to present Cherry Harvest. Cherry harvest is a combination of
tart and sweet cherry blended in such a way to maximize benefits while
providing a surprisingly refreshing taste. Cherry Harvest is all natural
with no preservatives, added sugar or color. This is cherry juice the way
nature intended delicious and nutritious. Tart and sweet cherry juice are
both excellent sources of anthocyanins, a family of antioxidants that give
cherries their bright color but also may play a critically important role in
reducing inflammation, promoting joint health and reducing the symptoms of
gout and arthritis. So try an ounce of Cherry Harvest your body will thank
you for it.
Tart Cherry Harvest
Michigan is the top tart cherry producer in the United States harvesting
75% of the nation’s tart cherry crop. These cherries do not normally make it
to your local supermarket, mostly because the tart cherry crop is sent for
processing into jams, jellies, pie filling and of course tart cherry juice
concentrate. Scientific research suggests that enjoying a shot of tart
cherry juice concentrate might help defuse arthritis pain. It is this
overwhelming scientific evidence that compelled us at American Premium
Blends to create Tart Cherry Harvest, our own proprietary blend
of tart cherry juice that promotes the health benefits of tart cherry juice.
Samples are available at the studio, try a bottle the
taste is great.
