Enthusiasm

Each new day seems to bring
news via conversations or emails of a new event, grass roots movement, or some
other organization pouring energy into wonderful work to make the planet a
better place. This past weekend I took part in a Global Mala, www.globalmala.org, at Karma Yoga in Bloomfield Township. Global Mala
celebrates Yoga as Peace in Action, works to
bring the yoga community closer together, and raises funds for wonderful
organizations.
Next week I will be
with hundreds of people in Tennessee for advance yoga training from Sadhguru, an
enlightened master from India. Every day I receive emails, flyers, or someone
tells me of events that people are participating in to raise their consciousness
and make the world a better place. Events all over the planet are working to
raise consciousness, reduce suffering, and create a more harmonious planet. I
believe we are in the midst of a transition on this planet, an awakening of
consciousness which is spreading and even accelerating. This belief and the
environment of my workplace make it easier for me to wake each day with
excitement and zeal for the day and the future.
Not everyone shares this outlook however, and without positive reinforcements of
optimism, life and the future can look bleak and even depressing. Nay sayers
and dooms dayers flood the airways through TV, radio, workplaces, and now the
internet spreading a message of lack, suspicion, disunity, kayos, fear, and even
hate. Economic, environmental, war, and health reports cause some to think that
life on this planet is doomed to poverty, sickness, and suffering. I know from
experience that this state of mind zaps your energy and steals your mental and
physical health. It traps you in a downward spiral that is difficult to pull
yourself out of. It’s no wonder why millions of people are on anti-depressants.
The word enthusiasm originates from the Greek word enthousiasmos formed from the
adjective entheos. En –“in” and theos “God”, the word literally meant “having
the god within”, (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/enthusiasm). Having the
god within. Read those words closely. Having the god within. Substitute another
word for god if you not comfortable with that one: Abba, Buddha, Christ, Higher
Power, Jehovah, Jesus, Krishna, Maker, Source, One, Om, or whatever works for
you. Having the (your word) within. Close your eyes and slowly repeat it many
times. Do the words invoke any change in you? Learn to cultivate enthusiasm, I
guarantee you love life fuller. You’ve been given free will to chose how you
will be. How will you be?
Peace and Love,

Come Meet Valerie
for Her Level 2 Class
Tuesday Nights @ 7:30 PM
Explore dance like Vinyasa, as well as a
challenging asana practice. Contemplation can be enhanced through Asana, as well
as Vinyasa. Each brings forth an opportunity to watch the mind, respective to
the practice. For example, while asana may reveal deeply hidden truth, Vinyasa
may allow for the development of metaphorical expressions.
In more physical terms, each class begins with
asana tapping gently into congested channels. Preparation is a key to full
expression. Opportunities to explore energetic relations in Vinyasa, as well as
multiple asana sequences, follow.
Each Vinyasa is taught for approximately 6 weeks, giving the
student an opportunity to learn the flow and ultimately listen to his
or her unique calling. Asana builds toward complex poses, while
lines of energy/ physical changes are described. All students are encouraged to
address their edge, while remaining respectful of their
physical, mental and spiritual states.

cold weather! I know I have already gone through some winter clothing;
especially my daughters’ and have started a big pile to give away. I also
started a pile to throw away or use as rags. Remember charities cannot use paint
stained and worn out clothing. It creates more waste for them that they have to
pay to haul away. We want them to use every available dollar on the people that
need it most, not the big waste disposal companies. So, please go through your
closets or hit the stores and bring men, women and children’s

Children with Hair Loss
is a local non-profit organization that is based out of Rockwood, MI. They
provide children with wigs while they are going through chemotherapy or enduring
a disease that prevents hair growth. These wigs are free to these children and
their families, as opposed to
Locks of Love
that charges people for their wigs. CWHL provides some children with new hair
replacements every year up to the age of 21. Visit the website at

put a few brochures about their organization at the studio. Jefferson Elementary

Green Miracles:
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’ve been seeing more and more things on TV
and in the news about “how to go green”. I think the country is catching on! A
good tip for going green is to use safe cleaning products like baking soda for
scouring sinks and tubs and vinegar for cleaning surfaces. Don’t forget to bring
your reusable bags each time you go shopping. Also,
Greening of Detroit
will be planting over 100 TREES in the Russel Woods Neighborhood! The tree
planting is sponsored by the Detroit General Services Department in conjunction
with the Mayor’s Next Detroit Neighborhood Initiative. We will be planting 100
street trees in this beautiful Westside neighborhood. We need 200 volunteers to
come out, roll up their sleeves, and DIG IN! Volunteers should meet October 6th
at 9am at Russel Woods Park across from 12650 Broadstreet, Detroit, MI 48238.

Available At Rising Sun Yoga
Blue Ice Pure Cod Liver Oil

Grandma knew what she was doing by giving us cod live oil. It is high
in vitamin A and D plus Omega 3 oils. The Blue Ice brand is the purist and
highest vitamin content we’ve found.
“Vitamin D may be one of the most fundamentally important
building blocks available to us for creating and sustaining vibrant health.
In addition to its classically understood role in bone formation and calcium
absorption, research has uncovered myriad roles for vitamin D, ranging from
increasing muscular coordination to preventing cancer, heart disease,
autoimmune diseases and radiation-induced tissue damage. Yet vitamin D is
also considered to be "the most toxic of all vitamins..", so don’t over do
it. (From Green Pasture’s Website) For more information visit
www.greenpasture.org and
www.westonaprice.org.
Afraid of the fishy taste, try the mint or cinnamon flavor
and fear no more.
We are also carrying Blue Ice Gold Therapeutics, a blend of high vitamin
cod liver oil-- 5000IU's vitamin A, 500IU's vitamin D -- plus 100mg of high
vitamin butter oil in each dose.
Without vitamin A & D our bodies don’t absorb minerals

Michigan Harvest
Michigan
Harvest
is a proprietary blend of
sweet cherry, blackberry, blueberry and apple chosen to maximize the ORAC* score while producing a flavor filled juice drink boost. Most high
antioxidant drinks use fruits from far away places in an attempt to maximize
antioxidant score. At Sol Resource we created
a high antioxidant drink made with fruits grown right here in the state of
Michigan. A single ounce of Michigan Harvest provides you with half of your
daily recommended antioxidant intake.
*ORAC
(Oxygen Radical
Absorption Capacity) measures the antioxidant activity of a substance.
Cherry Harvest
American Premium Blends
is
proud to present Cherry Harvest. Cherry harvest is a combination of
tart and sweet cherry blended in such a way to maximize benefits while
providing a surprisingly refreshing taste. Cherry Harvest is all natural
with no preservatives, added sugar or color. This is cherry juice the way
nature intended delicious and nutritious. Tart and sweet cherry juice are
both excellent sources of anthocyanins, a family of antioxidants that give
cherries their bright color but also may play a critically important role in
reducing inflammation, promoting joint health and reducing the symptoms of
gout and arthritis. So try an ounce of Cherry Harvest your body will thank
you for it.
Tart Cherry Harvest
Michigan is the top tart cherry producer in the United States harvesting
75% of the nation’s tart cherry crop. These cherries do not normally make it
to your local supermarket, mostly because the tart cherry crop is sent for
processing into jams, jellies, pie filling and of course tart cherry juice
concentrate. Scientific research suggests that enjoying a shot of tart
cherry juice concentrate might help defuse arthritis pain. It is this
overwhelming scientific evidence that compelled us at American Premium
Blends to create Tart Cherry Harvest, our own proprietary blend
of tart cherry juice that promotes the health benefits of tart cherry juice.
Samples are available at the studio, try a bottle the
taste is great.
