Just what do we celebrate when we celebrate peace?
What is peace anyway? Peace of What? Peace Where?
Peace of Mind, Peace in the Middle East, and peace towards
your neighbor. Maybe your idea of peace is within the city, or your family, or
even in your marriage. And what if you don’t have peace or see peace in your
life or on the planet? What then and how can we celebrate it? For that we must
have hope, we must set a vision of peace throughout the planet in the forefront
of our minds and in our dreams. We must be a stand for peace, working towards it
everywhere, and want it for everyone. We must see it so clear that we can feel
it coming. Let the joy of the vision of world peace be the place that you begin
your celebration of it’s coming. And the more positive vibrational energy that
you give towards celebrating peace the quicker it will come.
Meditation is a powerful way to strengthen the energy
vibration of peace. The more people tuning into the energy of peace at once the
stronger the energy gets, thus quickly causing transformational shifts in the
surrounding area of collective consciousness. Hundreds, hopefully a thousand
will gather at Yoga for Peace to meditate together for Peace. We hope that you
too can give thirty minutes for peace and join in. We need your collective
vision to strengthen the reality of peace. If you haven’t googled the benefits
of meditation take a few minutes to, then analyze your day to see if you can fit
a daily meditation or two into it. A commitment to meditate for peace is worth a
celebration alone.
When we examine peace and what it means to live peacefully we
find a list of qualities necessary to sustain peace: Courage, Love, Truth,
Generosity, Compassion, Patience, Devotion. Establishing your roots in these
seven pillars sets the foundation for the fruition of peace. Our ability to
create peace is innate and becomes stronger as we exercise it. Meditation is a
key part of the exercise, but reflection, and a keen honest observing presence
of our thoughts, intentions, and words that are out of alignment with peace is a
must. What brings us closer to living in the peaceful intention of our maker is
what we should seek, removing any habits we have of that aren’t aligned with our
peaceful nature. Celebrating peace is an affirmation in the belief in the
possibility of peace.
We can Celebrate this coming of peace each awakened moment.
Hold the vision of peace strong. Learn tools, techniques, products, and about
your food to see how you can live more at peace with the planet and it’s
occupants. Give up looking outward to find peace. Create peace in you. Let peace
be a personal choice and celebrate that choice. Give up anger, greed, jealousy,
prejudices, and the need to be right. Develop an attitude of love toward your
planet earth mates recognizing the divine nature of peace within them. The more
of us that commit to creating peaceful relationships the more peace in the world
there will be. If tens of thousands, then hundreds of thousands make a stand for
peace, the vision of world peace can happen in a relatively short amount of
time. Be the change you wish to see in the world are the wise words of Mahatma
Gandhi. Celebrate the change, the presence of peace now, and watch it spread
across the planet.
We can celebrate peace through food and drink, music and
dance, drumming, yoga and mediation, random
acts of kindness and giving, and
through the strengthening of community and relationships to support each others
journey. This is how we will be celebrating peace on August 12th at Yoga For
Peace. We hope you can be with us and if you can’t be there we hope that you are
with us in spirit. We will hold a peace meditation at 5:30pm Eastern Time that
anyone anywhere can join to help strengthen the energy of peace. Share this with
your friends or meditation groups. Be a part of the meditation in person or
wherever you are meditate for 30 minutes beginning at 5:30pm August 12, 2007. Be
the change….
Peace,

Karma Yoga
Aloha Everyone!
August is here and with that comes a few
things, The Yoga for Peace event and back to school shopping.
First, spread the word about the Peace event.
Download a few flyers and pass them out to some local businesses, take a copy to
your child’s summer class or ask your local library if you can post it on their
bulletin board. Any amount of peaceful meditating is a good thing during these
stressful times in America. Please don’t forget to join everyone at Ford Field
on Sunday, August 12th.
We are also going to collect school supplies
for the kids of COTS. Watch for ads towards the middle of the month as many big
chain stores advertise super low prices for crayons, markers, folders,
pencils, glue sticks and back packs. While you’re picking up supplies for
kids in your family, grab a few extra for children that are less fortunate. I’m
sure we all remember how cool we felt when we went back to school with all our
fresh new supplies and back packs ready to learn! Please bring your donations to
the studio by August 24th and I’ll drop them off at COTS.
15 minutes of Green:
Don’t forget about tax credits for home
improvements and energy efficient cars. Things like new water heaters, furnaces
and replacement windows are some of the things considered for tax credits up to
$500. Also, hybrid, electric or other alternate fuel source cars will be
considered but only until the year 2010. Just go to www.energystar.gov for more
info.
Just For Kids:
I doesn’t matter what age
you are, everyone regardless of their age can make a difference. Pick something
that is important to you, children’s issues, the environment or education. There
are so many ways you can raise money for your favorite charity. Go to
www.charitynavigator.com to research organizations’ mission statements, what
percentage of money goes to their services they provide or even find out how
much their CEO’s make.
Thank you again for all
your selfless giving and support!

Now Available At Rising Sun Yoga
Blue Ice Pure Cod Liver Oil

Grandma knew what she was doing by giving us cod live oil. It is high
in vitamin A and D plus Omega 3 oils. The Blue Ice brand is the purist and
highest vitamin content we’ve found.
“Vitamin D may be one of the most fundamentally important
building blocks available to us for creating and sustaining vibrant health.
In addition to its classically understood role in bone formation and calcium
absorption, research has uncovered myriad roles for vitamin D, ranging from
increasing muscular coordination to preventing cancer, heart disease,
autoimmune diseases and radiation-induced tissue damage. Yet vitamin D is
also considered to be "the most toxic of all vitamins..", so don’t over do
it. (From Green Pasture’s Website) For more information visit
www.greenpasture.org and
www.westonaprice.org.
Afraid of the fishy taste, try the mint or cinnamon flavor
and fear no more.
We are also carrying Blue Ice Gold Therapeutics, a blend of high vitamin
cod liver oil-- 5000IU's vitamin A, 500IU's vitamin D -- plus 100mg of high
vitamin butter oil in each dose.
Without vitamin A & D our bodies don’t absorb minerals

Michigan Harvest
Michigan
Harvest
is a proprietary blend of
sweet cherry, blackberry, blueberry and apple chosen to maximize the ORAC* score while producing a flavor filled juice drink boost. Most high
antioxidant drinks use fruits from far away places in an attempt to maximize
antioxidant score. At Sol Resource we created
a high antioxidant drink made with fruits grown right here in the state of
Michigan. A single ounce of Michigan Harvest provides you with half of your
daily recommended antioxidant intake.
*ORAC
(Oxygen Radical
Absorption Capacity) measures the antioxidant activity of a substance.
Cherry Harvest
American Premium Blends
is
proud to present Cherry Harvest. Cherry harvest is a combination of
tart and sweet cherry blended in such a way to maximize benefits while
providing a surprisingly refreshing taste. Cherry Harvest is all natural
with no preservatives, added sugar or color. This is cherry juice the way
nature intended delicious and nutritious. Tart and sweet cherry juice are
both excellent sources of anthocyanins, a family of antioxidants that give
cherries their bright color but also may play a critically important role in
reducing inflammation, promoting joint health and reducing the symptoms of
gout and arthritis. So try an ounce of Cherry Harvest your body will thank
you for it.
Tart Cherry Harvest
Michigan is the top tart cherry producer in the United States harvesting
75% of the nation’s tart cherry crop. These cherries do not normally make it
to your local supermarket, mostly because the tart cherry crop is sent for
processing into jams, jellies, pie filling and of course tart cherry juice
concentrate. Scientific research suggests that enjoying a shot of tart
cherry juice concentrate might help defuse arthritis pain. It is this
overwhelming scientific evidence that compelled us at American Premium
Blends to create Tart Cherry Harvest, our own proprietary blend
of tart cherry juice that promotes the health benefits of tart cherry juice.
Samples are available at the studio, try a bottle the
taste is great.
